Sjoukje took over Dierenpension Excellent in 2020 after working in veterinary clinics and zoos. She pays close attention to dogs’ behaviour and wellbeing. To support that approach, she wants access to her schedule wherever she is.
Running her own boarding business had been a long-standing ambition. After gaining experience in a specialist clinic and two zoos, an opportunity came through her father-in-law. It meant she could work from home and spend every day with animals. Dogs have always held a special place for her.
Personal attention for every dog
At drop-off and collection, Sjoukje talks with owners about how their dogs are doing. She has considerable experience with rescue dogs adopted from abroad and carefully considers each dog’s needs. That personal approach shapes how she runs the business.

Take the schedule outside
Her previous system did not suit her, partly because she uses Apple devices. After a trial, she chose Aniday. If a customer requests a change while Sjoukje is out on the field, she can check straight away whether it fits the schedule.
Sjoukje wants to know more than an arrival time at handover. Has the dog had an intensive training session or an unpleasant encounter with another dog? She takes that into account. Quick access to her schedule supports this attentive approach without repeated trips back to a desktop computer.
Adopting features at her own pace
At the time of the interview, Sjoukje was not yet taking online bookings. She planned to introduce them later. Even without using every feature, she found the system practical. Easy access to information and help when she had questions made the biggest difference.
